Siri may have a lot of catch up work to do when compared to Google Assistant but no one can deny the fact that Apple’s personal assistant has seen some notable improvements. Whether it’s the ability to work with third-party messaging apps or the recent integration with major music apps like Spotify and Pandora, the virtual assistant has made a lot of strides. Siri also keeps a track of how you use your apps like Mail and provides personalized suggestions. As a result, it becomes pretty easy to add new events to the Calendar app and people to Contacts. If you find this feature helpful, let me show you how you can enable and use Siri Suggestions in the Mail app on iOS and macOS.

Before getting started, make sure Siri is allowed to offer suggestions in the Mail app. As the process is quite straightforward, you can enable it with ease. Once enabled, Siri will offer suggestions in the form of an alert which you can accept or deny as per your needs.

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Then, scroll down and tap on Mail.

  • Launch System Preferences on your Mac.

  1. Finally, click on Done to confirm the action.
  • You can set the Mail app to automatically add events. To do so, click on Mail -> Preferences -> General -> Add invitations to Calendar automatically.
  • If you are using an Exchange account, you can add events by using the buttons located at the top.
